17634, Help with SAFC settings Posted by SpoolinEclipse97, Mar-13-02 04:45 PM
Well, finally decided on a fuel setup for my 10-12psi range after a LOT of studying corbins. gonna go with 370cc(36lb) injectors, SAFC, and the 4:1 disk for the vortech fmu. now, far as the SAFC goes, is there any "widely accepted" settings that should work with my injector/boost choices? i havent gotten mine yet, but i dont know a thing about tuning one just yet. thanks a lot for any help.

Well, the basics: 4cylinder, throttle arrow UP. Select a PRESSURE type sensor, and try 7in 7out to start. 6in 6out may yield a better idle, but the pressure readings will be off.
To start, put both HI and LO throttle settings to -40% or so, so you can idle. Don't worry about over-leaning in the LO throttle, as the ECU can compensate to some degree.
As for what % throttle to use for HI and LO, it depends on your driving style. Me, i use 30% for LO, and 80% for HI. When i'm in it, i'm in it. When i'm not, i'm not. Works for me.
Everything else is up to you. There is a GREAT guide on AFC tuning with the 420A on the Mods page. I suggest you print it out and read through it a few times.
Luck!
