anyone know if we have to notch our bedplate to fit the main bearings from the howell kit? there is a little paper in the package stating that 1995 vin C cars have to do this. I have a 1995 420a, but my vin don't start with no C so i dunno if i gotta do this?
thanks
james

Buy another set. No machinist in thier right mind is goign to cut another notch into your bedplate. Buy another set, and use two top halves for your mains. This is what i was told to do by Gary Howell, and it has worked out quite well so far. It gives you the benefit of a full 360* oil groove, which means both your mains and you rods get more oiling.
