I burned 3/4 of a tank driving 160 miles, mostly highway.. I assume I'm running very rich.. when in neutral and i rev the engine to boost, the fuel pressure goes over 80.. Do I simply turn the screw on top of the silver cylinder that has the hrc fuel pressure gauge on it?

Sorry for the newbie question.. please help!

That silver object is your FPR. Turn it out while the car is idling (without any throttle) and make sure it idles at 47-55psi. I just go for 50 psi. Then with your foot on the throttle without boosting, it shoudl go up to around 60 psi. At your level of boost around ~5psi, you should be at about 80-90 psi of fuel UNDER BOOST.

The top allen wrench bolt controls your idle (or static) fuel pressure. (47-55 psi)

The brass screw on the side of the valve controls boosted fuel pressure. (80-90 psi)

awesome, thanks!! now for the 60 psi, should i hold it around 3k rpms? or as high as it'll go without boosting?

You won't need to do anything to get to 60 psi. Under throttle, without boost, the fuel pressure should automatically get to that level of pressure without adjustment. Just properly set your idle fuel pressure.

No question about it. Running as rich as you are could cause HP levels to drop a great deal. Go with the proper levels of fuel pressure and you should realize a big difference.

You're confusing me now, my fuel pressure at idle is around 80-90psi. now if i try to turn the silver knob to lower the pressure at all the car shuts off. Are you talking about something else then, because I could never get it to idle around 47-55psi.

There is NO WAY your car should be running 80-90 psi at idle. You MUST turn it down to 47-55 psi at idle. If it shuts off at that level of FP, there could be a number of other problems with the fuel system. Either way, I'd turn it down to that level at idle.

Call HRC tech support if you still don't understand.

hmmm... I'm gonna have to check out things tommorow. Maybe the gauge is inaccurate cuz i'm still using the gauge that came with the kit that stays in the engine bay. I'm almost positive tho, that at idle, it's over 80psi. My egt's and 02 voltage is right where they should be tho.
