What is the model number for the clutchmasters modual clutch for our tranny's? I have a new buddy of mine that can get it for 600 he says and still make a few bucks off it so I wanted to make sure it was the right part #. The number I have is : Mitsubishi > ECLIPSE > 2.0L ENG. NON TURBO 2WD MODULAR UNIT > 05-084-HDCB

Got the tranny out today, how do i support the engine while the tranny is out? I have a block of wood sitting ontop my fllor jack and have it on the oil pan... didnt think this was the best idea, but there is no where else to get it at....?????

Here's what I did. I had two 4x6's in the back yard, both about 3 1/2 to 4 feet long. I simply nailed the two blocks together to form a big "L" shape. That way you can sit the "L" ontop of the firewall, where your wipers are. One end sitting up on the firewall, spanning across the engine and attaching to the other piece of wood then going to the ground. Can you visualize that? I know its hard to imagine. Hard to explain. Think of it as a crane. Then I got a ratchet strap with a hook on the end, wrapped it around the wood and attached it to the metal bracket on the exhaust manifold and cranked the motor up till the slack was taken out of the strap. Since your turbo, I dunno if you still have that metal brace on the manifold. Thats what its used for. Pulling the engine. Good luck. :)

Just so I have the details correct. The clutchmasters stage IV modular is a true modular clutch that comes with a new flywheel etc just like a new stock modular unit.

Does it also include a new throwout bearing? if not, do you guys just replace it with a new mitsu one?

it comes with a new TO bearing.

it is exactly like a stock modular unit, only it is a 4 puck ceramic disc. it comes with everything you need for the install short of the labor costs and two quarts of tranny oil. :-)

What oil do I need to get? And would it be worth my time to get a nonmodular clutch and lightened flywheel? that what when i wear clutches out i dont have to replace the whole thing, and it will be a lot lighter??

I have been using BG Synchroshift for over 30K miles. Numerous race teams use it in their mitsu manual transmissions. Buy 3 quarts of it to ensure you have enough.

Super20g did you end up going with the modular? Anyone know if the modular from Clutchmasters is rebuildable? I am stuck on what to do with the clutch/flywheel situation, but I need to do it fast because my engine will need to be balanced with the flywheel next week. I called CM's to ask them about the non-modular stage 4, They said it is part# 05-076-HDCB. I would then have to buy the non-modular flywheel from howell. I talked to howell auto and they have a stage 2 modular rebuildable setup with fidanza for 749 bucks, they said it should be able to hold 20psi. Anyone try this combo out. What is the best way to go?
