My theory on the fuel pump loudness issue.....not aimed at anyone in particular......

When you make a car faster the noise levels are going to rise. And if you cant handle a little extra noise to gain hp then dont mod the car. Speed comes with noise. Its just part of making a car faster. And the fuel pumps arent that bad anyway. I dont even notice my walbro pump anymore unless I listen for it. The HRC pump is a little bit louder than the walbro but it isnt that bad. It is VERY tolerable. My exhaust is much louder than any fuel pump can ever be. Even cold air intakes are louder than the fuel pump.

HRC and walbro pumps are about the same volume in sound (heard a walbro in a miata......I was surprised at how loud it was). however, fuel pump sonds aren't very annoying to me at all, and when you compare it to say a paxton GSS pump, both sound like a wisper ;)

I don't mind the sound at all but it's a pain in the ass when you go through police ride programs. I went through a seat belt check and when the cop heard the fuel pump, I spent the next ten minutes at the side of the road proving to the cop that I wasn't running NOS.

HRC @ idle: the low tone is the exhuast (3" Thermal), the beeping is the timer, and the high pitch tone is the fuel pump.

Go outside. I'll turn on my car and you should be able to hear it if you're in the continental US. ;) heheh j/k

Yea, that video hardly does it justice. when your in traffic, the low tone exhuast gets drowned out, and all you hear is eeennnnnnnnnhhhhhhhhhh from the pump, lol

I have BOTH fuel pumps right now, and they aren't loud at all. You can ask Michael 97RS, Koolade, Ryan RS, or Vector Racing. They've all ridden in my car, and we've all laughed about how insignificant the sound really is. It's certainly nothing that should prevent anyone from getting a turbo no matter what.

This is a silly discussion, IMO. :-)

Fuel pump noise = annoying at first but once you get use to it you will learn to love it. I use the noise as a warning, if I cant hear it something is wrong. You will get use to it.

The fuel pump for both HRC and star kits (not sure what ones exactly) that I have heard have all been loud. You sound like an aircraft idling. It's not loud like an exhaust, but high pitched. Human ears get more annoyed by high pitched sounds (for example, you can have a system with tons of bass, but if the highs are too loud, it hurts your ears more). That's what I find annoying, the high pitch of it. It sounds cool to me though, but I could imagine getting annoyed by it if I didn't have a system in the car.

well i ran the car today for the first time with my kit and the fuel pump is pretty loud. if it is set to the specs then its pretty damm loud. if not then it will be quieter. man boosting is fuckin fun!!! but my fun was cut short do to bad oil leek. jes thought id share that with you guys :)
