17101, Hahn Turbo Installation Posted by Swsoc07, Mar-07-02 02:31 AM
I recently ordered a Hahn turbo stage 1 kit and will be attempting to install it with some friends at eth end of march. I was wondering if anyone has some advice or some simplified steps for the installation so that we can get it done in a weekend. Is there an instruction manual out there? or any steps to go by other than what Hahn will be sending me? Thanks

The HRC instructions are COMPLETE from A to Z. Just follow each direction to its specificity. If you have any questions, ask them here. Otherwise, this question has been answered a ton of times in the archives.

get some WD-40 and if you can, air tools. =P those nuts holding on the exhaust are rusted on TIGHT.
Turbo manifold and turbo should be fairly easy.. the piping will be cake too.
The fuel system will be the most complicated part.
Make sure you have plenty of jackstands and extensions on your socket wrench. A secondary car will help out too, since you might have to run to the local autostore and pick up parts. (you never know).

yeah like jason said, ask us here, he was the single biggest help in my install. thanks again jason. anyway, i was careful to the neurotic level so i had to make sure everything was clear, jason cleared it up for me, if he isnt here there are dozens of us others that can help. get on the AIM chat from the main page first since there is almost always 8-10 people there

Thanks a lot guys. If I need any help you can be sure I will be posting questions on here. How hard is the installation of the HRC stage 2 upgrade?

basically a stage 2 upgrade would just be an intercooler and a 9 psi actuator.
That just means taking off the turbo piping that connects to the throttle body... putting on the intercooler pipings (that'll run a loop around the IC), mounting up the intercooler and putting on the 9 psi actuator.. which you wouldn't even need, because that would just force you to run at 9 psi all the time (about 7 psi after going through the IC and piping). You could just stay with the stage 1 actuator.. and flip up the boost controller for more boost.
