17089, HELP! Got engine codes...what could be wrong? Posted by ExcessTalonESi, Mar-06-02 04:41 PM
Hey guys. My friend and I just got done installing an HKS Type O turbo timer. Well, I got the codes 12 and 24:
*12 - Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles
24 - Throttle position sensor voltage low - Harness and connector/Throttle position sensor
24 - Throttle position sensor voltage high - Harness and connector/Throttle position sensor
24 - Throttle position sensor voltage does not agree with MAP (M/T) - Harness and connector/Throttle position sensor output/MAP sensor output
Bad TPS (Throttle Position Sensor)? The weird thing is that the car runs perfectly after a test drive. What do you guys think it might be? TIA!

You just got done talkin to me about this, you know hyperltdjs. Anyway I didn't know that code 24 also included that the TPS voltage was too high. I am pretty sure that the TPS somehow got fucked up by accident, go and make sure that the TPS connector is making a good connection. Clear the codes and drive around for a couple days and see what happens. But don't worry I am still going to ask my buddy at work and see what he thinks about it.

Thanks a bunch. I drove around today and at lunch the CEL light went off, but the codes are still the same. I'm gonna try messing with the sensor and then resetting the ECU. If that doesn't work, I'll go to the dealer tomorrow and getthem to clear the codes. Hopefully your buddy will have some info. on what may be wrong. Thanks your help thus far, bro!
