Have a weird problem with an automatic 97 rs HRC Stage 2. If you put your foot to the floor to boost the car will not rev past 4000 - 5000 rpm and will jerk back and forth. But if you lift your foot just a little and then mash it back to WOT, then the car will continue to boost and rev to redline. I remember seeing a post about this, but the search option is not working for me. The car has an inline fuel pump, HRC FPR, VC-2, and the S-AFC says the MAP voltage is 4.69 under boost.

the fpr might be laggin a bit in response and takes it a little while to supply you with the correct ammount of fuel when you go into sudden boost.
after it hessitates for a bit does it run fine?
sounds like it could just be a lag in response from the fpr.

oops, just read your post again and I had the same problem.... it was due to a huge air leak, fixed it and the problem was gone. cheak for leaks.

This car belongs to a fellow DSMer here in Melbourne, FL. I was thinking that the FPR might be the problem too. Apparently the car will do this every time you try to go into boost. The engine was just rebuilt with the Howell package so perhaps when the shop put the kit back together they did not do something right.
