Well I had beru silverstone plugs in my car for a while now and they have a silver center electrode and no resistor, these worked great. but they got old and i changed them to ngk bkr-7e plugs which i see recommended alot. but after like 50 miles my idle gets pretty rough. i put the beru's back in even though they are worn and the idle is great again. what gives. both are gapped to .032, i am using nology wires. does the resistor make that much difference? see cause i was thinking about it and sparks (arcing) is affected most by voltage, for example, if i have high current and low voltage this will not produce an arc across an airgap as readily as low current high voltage will. you know ohm's law v=ir so as you increase resistance the voltage drops hence smaller spark. but i have not really seen how much difference it makes, could it be so much as to affect my idle quality?

If the 7's (which are one range colder, good for turbo, bad for NA) aren't idling as well, you need to try gapping them smaller.

To the best of my knowledge (and i may be way off base here) there are no resisters in any sparkplugs.

from what i read the R in BKR of the ngk spark plug designates it as a resistor plug, and if you measure resistance from the tip to the electrode it will show substantial resistance. they use it to suppress RF and EMI interference. i'll try to gap down to .030 and see what happens because they are currently at .032 or maybe i'll just put the silverstone's back in

the NGK BKR7E-11 ARE resistor plugs

I thought the proper gap for NGK bkr7e was .025-.028 ?

Mebbe that'll help? (feeling like im not helping much tho)

man that's really tight! that's like no gap at all i wonder if it will help if i set it that small. I'll try.
