1635, Best To Get Better 1/4 Time.
Posted by GigaMp3z, Feb-11-01 12:40 PM
I am looking into buying a 95 Eagle Talon TSi Turbo FWD 5 speed.

can someone please tell me what mods would get me into high 13's or low 14's.

i can spend about 3,000(would like to be less..but what is the cheapiest way to get me there....without nitrous). Can most shops install parts i buy off the net?

i need to know what is the easiest and cheapest way to get me into high 13's, low 14's.

if u guys could list sites and mods needed, that would be great.

i am really new to this. and need alot of explaining.

thanks,
corey

This board is mostly for the non-turbo models with the chrysler 420A motor, but i have a tip for you: Get a better BOV. The stock 2g-t BOV will not hold more than about 11psi, so upgrade to a Greddy or HKS model that will fit your stock flange. Also. keep a rainy day fund, just in case, for CRANKWALK. :-) Have a nice night!

BOV = Blow Off Valve

It vents the pressure from your intercooler piping when the throttle plate slaps shut, when you take your foot off the gas. The stock 2g BOV leaks and will only maintain about 11psi. An aftermarket BOV will have a better spring/diaphram and will hold more boost.

Another tip: the stock 2g turbo is only good up to about 17psi, over that and you'll likely just be blowing hotter air. Hotter air=less oxygen=less power. Go for a 16g from Hahn or similar turbo upgrade. Also, you might want to think about a front mount intercooler setup, as well as an upgraded fuel pump. There are other people here that can give you the specifics, but for basic upgrades for your performance, these will likely be your best bets.

Sites you could check out: turbosystems.com, dsmtalk.com, thepartstrader.com, dsmtrader.com... all these are great resources for turbosystems or for finding parts that you need. Good luck!

You'd actually be better off asking these question on dsktalk.com or another board, as i stated earlier, this board is mainly for the non-turbo 420A chrylser motor, but we'll help you as much as we can if you keep posting...

I know several people here in San Antonio that can make a 1G and 2G run low 14's with several free to inexpensive mods. You should check out http://www.dsm.org and search for free mods. This could give you an idea of what you are looking at dollar wise. Before you buy, make sure a mechanic goes over it completely to be sure it is a sound investment.

Go to any of these pages and look under stages http://www.extrememotorsports.com http://www.buschurracing.com or http://www.ddynopower.com I can already tell you the first battery of mods will be 1)boost gauge 2)air filter 3)exhuast 4)intercooler pipe upgrade 5)BOV 6)fuel pump 7)boost controller. These mods should be well under $3000 and net you high 13s with a good driver. This is about all you can do with the stock 2G turbo except an intercooler upgrade. From there you'll need a bigger turbo.
