coincidence, i hit 1500 for the first time on teh way home today, i was in 5th doing 90 up a hill on the interstate for about 20 seconds before i noticed it and backed off. i run about the same as phrenzy under normal circumstances.

My temps are the same as Darkone's. I see people posting about close to 1600 or above sometimes. I have yet to hit 1500.

It depends where you guys have your egt probes placed. I do not know where you guys have them so I cant comment on the temps. I have mine in the downpipe right after the turbo. At hard acceleration I hit about 1400 which equals roughly 1600. At idle if I let the car sit for a few minutes I am at 650 which equals about 850. at cruising speed on the highway I am at about 1200 which equals about 1400. I have talked to Bill Hahn about the egt isue and he said as long as you dont go over 1600 your OK.

I thought you guys with turbos were suppose to run hotter than my NA machine??? Those are the numbers I see 800-900 idle and 1400 1450 or so WOT. And my probe is a couple inches from the head in runner #4.

I'm right around phrenzy's numbers, but if i'm in full boost and keep on the throttle, it goes up to 850*C, i've almost gotten it to 900*C while racing on the highway, is this normal?

>I thought you guys with turbos were suppose to run hotter >than my NA machine
Given the same stoich ratio of air to fuel, the temperatures *should* be pretty close to the same. Yes, the turbo guys are pushing a lot more air through the engine, but they are also pushing a lot more fuel. Plus 93 octane gas helps too I would assume.

6061 and 6063 Aluminums melt at about 1700*F if I remember correctly. That's a very bad thing. :P My EGT is placed in the far drivers side runner about 1 3/4 " from the out port.
