DOes anyone have a picture of the wastegate welded the the down pipe? I'm fixin to put my star kit on and was wonderin if i should do this now or not(if at all) any opinions on what to do?

yes do it now if you can. If you know how to weld do it. Because it's difficult to do it on the car already. Basically assenble the downpipe, wastegate, turbo, and the manifold off the car and weld away. Haha I still need to do it but I had my downpipe welded onto the muffler piping so I can't do it easily now.

Just wondering Dino but does it help to make a gasket for the downpipe? I was cleaning my engine bay today and when I watered down the engine bay I could see steam coming from where the downpipe connects to the turbine. When I get the dumpipe welded I'll probably do that. Money money need money..... :P

I tried to cut one and disintegrated it in a matter of minutes, driving time. I ended up ordering one from RRE, but the damn thing still doesn't seal. After all the effort, i wrote it off as an increase of exhaust flow to help spool and called it a day.. haven't touched it since.

The whole open wastegate thing is kind of ironic. Most of the 420a guys want to weld their wastegates to the downpipe and most of the 4g63 guys want external wastegates that are open and louder.
