1557, Two Different Turbos on stock GS-T's?? Posted by grneclipse, Feb-08-01 05:00 AM
Sups guys,
I was looking through the dsmtrader and I noticed one post that read
"I need a good TD05 center-sectioned turbo, not an automatic DSM turbo, to put in my car"
Now I remember reading something A LOOOOONG time ago about having two separate turbos for the DSM's, one for the auto, and one for the manual....what's up with that? I"m not sure if I understand the concept. I'm mainly asking because I'm in the process of installing my custom kit in my car and I have a t-25. I just needed to know if this will affect my install seeing how I'm an automatic. Thanks guys, let me know

The turbo won't make difference in your install. The only difference is that you make sure your fuel needs are met with the turbo you are running.
The auto GSTs appear to have smaller injectors than the manual ones...so maybe that's why the different turbo (smaller).
Plus a smaller turbo would spool up much faster, which would help autos.

That's for the 1g's. The MT came with the 14B. The AT came with small injectors, different cams(I think) and of course the smaller turbo the TD04 (think thats the right code)
