15401, cleaning the front mount intercooler... Posted by DarKReaLity, Feb-10-02 03:29 AM
hey fellas...well now that i've been like traveling lots of times from Miami to Keywest, bugs tend to build up in the intercooler. the intercooler is starting to look like caca. anyway i'm like wanting to clean it for sometime but i'm like not sure if i should use a high pressure water spray or use a soapbrush. i want to avoid bending the grills or rusting it. how do u all with intercoolers clean them?

It shouldn't rust. It gets wet when you drive it in the rain and no rust, right. I would just use the car wash spray gun on it.

Use an engine degreaser or something of that nature. Soak it good and keep soaking it for awhile, then rinse it off with a light spray, not too aggressive though or you'll bend some parts....

Gassoline on the inside, degreaser on the outside then Mother's Alluminum Polish to bring out that bling bling
