15349, Finishing touches...need opinions and wisdom Posted by JustOne, Feb-09-02 05:12 PM
Ok here is the break down. I am building a beast. I still want it to be a streetcar but not far from an all out racecar. I am in the process of obtaining anything and everything for this project. So far I have:
JE pistons 8.6:1 - .020 over Eagle rods (may change to crower later) Lightened and polished crank EVERY gasket for the engine Clutch Masters Stage IV Vortech S-FMU Unorthodox Cam Gears Greddy FMIC Turbo XS Type H-RFL BOV Turbo XS Boost Controller HRC Super 16G (may go Super 20g later) Gauges galore UDP
Still need:
High flow intank High flow inline (hrc one has to go) Injectors (clueless of where to go for this one, i.e. size and management) S-AFC ??? MSD or Crane ??? Four more injectors and a AIC ??? Accel DFI ??? (Really don't want to because of the cost and tuning)
--I need suggestions on the above--
LSD (not looking forward to buying it and installing it) Axles Head work -- P and P Cams
That’s all I can think of at the moment. If anyone sees anything that I could do w/o please point it out. The same goes for something I missed.
The only thing I am really worried about is the fuel management. I Like the idea of the additional injectors. It seems like it would be the cheapest way to go. I really don't want to have to spend anymore money on stuff like a DFI if I don't have to, considering all the body work that is going on at the same time.
Thanks

man, i say just break down and order the hahn stage iv fuel system, its a really nice setup and its better to be safe than sorry... tuning it isnt really too bad, just takes some time and effort to learn the software throughly... Install is pretty simple of the DFI, kinda like install an alarm or anything electronic, just track down the wires and install....
