15272, Timing belt before turbo? 15273, RE: Timing belt before turbo? Posted by Corbin, Feb-08-02 04:57 PM Isn't the timing belt a 60k item? If so, I would do it now along with the water pump, tensioner. The shop manual mentions valves slapping pistons, so it is supposed to be an interference engine. I haven't proved this myself. I would certainly want everything taken care of and perfect before slapping a turbo on. Do the t-belt, normal maintenance, use the turbo properly (proper fuel etc), and I bet you can make it to 100k. | |
