Posted by ecl98pse, Feb-08-02 01:40 AM
I have 58k and am planning to go turbo but need to know if i should get new timing belt, waterpump etc. first. our motors are interferance motors right? also do you think i could make it to 100k on stock internals boost'd at 4-7psi intercooled?
thanx evry1

Isn't the timing belt a 60k item? If so, I would do it now along with the water pump, tensioner. The shop manual mentions valves slapping pistons, so it is supposed to be an interference engine. I haven't proved this myself. I would certainly want everything taken care of and perfect before slapping a turbo on. Do the t-belt, normal maintenance, use the turbo properly (proper fuel etc), and I bet you can make it to 100k.
