How is the HKS Bov that comes with the star kit? does it sound good?(ricer question alert!) :-) would it be worth it to upgrade to a different bov, and if so, which one should i get?

HKS standard works fine(nice quiet woosh). I think you will need to be boosting a full 10 psi to get the HKS SS BOV to woooooooosh good. I have heard it sounds like a turkey gobble at low boost.
Turbo XS and Greddy also work good.

I heard we could use the 3000GT blow off valve is that true? Oh well I'm happy with my Greddy Type-S!

I have the OEM 3000GT BOV...it came with the stage II HRC kit, works fine with low boost, but I've heard it likes to leak with higher boost. It's rather quiet too, it's a subtle woosh rather than a loud whistle.

i like BOV's that just sound like a big release of air, not the "gobble" that some make. will the HKS be pretty audible outside of the car at 5psi? if not, which one should i upgrade to for a nice sound, without sacrificing any performance?

yeah you'll be able to hear it outside the car. DIdn't you watch my video? Here download this you'll be able to hear it. It's worx well low boost, so far as I can tell.
