anyone know if i just replaced the rings on my stock pistons would i have any problems, or if i was to replace my pistons with aftermarket stock bore pistons would i have any problems?
i think it may be possible that one of my rings may be bad. but i'm not sure

yes you can replace rings seperate but if your in there might as well spend the extra couple hundred and get rods/pistons and you will probably have to hone/bore/clean the cylinder walls to ensure a good fit with the rings

The labor charge will be the same to pull the stockers and replace the rings and install them back or pull the stockers and put in new pistons, rods, and rings.

Howellautmotive is well accepted for having everything you need for this. Although you could try and shop many of the neon performance shops and come up with what you can, possibly for a slightly cheaper price.

One more thing, noone here will recommend you retain the stock bore. As a rule of thumb, always rebore those piston bores to start anew. Think about it this way, if you're pouring all this time, money and effort into doing a rebuild with first-class parts, do a good job now. It's much too hard to undo anything internally engine related. So basically you get one shot to do it right.

i have 90000 miles is there any way to overbore the block when it is in the car, or can i do it myself?

Just pull it and take it to a competent machine shop, its really not that hard/bad, they'll get you taken care of, well worth it to have someone thats done that kind of work before... you dont want to learn on your daily driver, maby a few scrap engines or something...
