You never know what problems will happen once we go turbo. I had my car for a year and a half and I never had any problems and never needed to take it to dealer but once I went turbo it took a month or two before I had minor problems (at least I hope there minor). Just make sure u got some extra $$ to be on safe side. You should be able to get high to mid 14's w/ a Stage 1. dsmnt96 ran 14.7 at 5 psi w/ a 2.4 60ft. All he needs is a better launch w/ drag radials and he can get into mid 14's. W/ a front mount (like me) you can get into low 14's and maybe get into 13's depending on what boost you run although I haven't run my car yet thats what most people in here get. -Dave

if you live in a hot state, get the stage 2...down here in florida i don't think a stage one would last very long just because of the heat factor. at leats not that decent psi levels.

Hey it's cheap and it's a start...you don't need to run high boost and the boost is instant due to no intercooler. I liked my stage I..just don't go boost crzy...I've gotten up to 9 lbs once in my stage I and I was like WHOA!...i want more - self control fellaz.

i dont understand this so maybe someone can help me...this guy semper has a stage I and says I ran up to 9 psi. I thought this was controlled by a)boost controller b)wastegate spring; this meaning you have the boost controller set at 5, how does it get up to 9 without you setting it there, and when you have the 3psi spring, same thing how does the boost get up to 9 psi? What in my understanding here am I wrong or not getting entirely?
let say I have a Hahn stage II, (no boost controller) what is the psi set at from factory? How do you adjust this without a bc? at the wastegate?
ok let my scenario go on, say the boost from factory is set at 7psi for stage II, I'm getting on the freeway and decide to floor for 3 gears to redline? Is the amount of boost going to stay at 7psi, or from what I understand from semperboost, it creeps over and then you have to pick up your heavy foot. I know this was long but I hope some of the big turbo guys can lend me a hand.

if everything is connected rite, and you have a 3lb spring (what i had) the wastegate will open at 3psi. if you have a boost controller, it will open at what you set it at. when i was installing my controller, it wasnt' controlling b/c i didn't have the tubing right the first time i put it on. when i was testing it out it woulnd' tcontrol at all so the boost kept going up and up. it hit 10 and i wo0uld just let off on the gas. now that i have ti set right thou, if i turn off my profec B the boost will go up to 3 (because i too have a 3lb spring). if i turn it to low boost it goes off at 5, if i goto high, it'll go off at 8. that's just what i have it set at, you can set it at anything you waht, and if it's working correctly, it'll stay at 5 and 8 respectively. mine done'st boost creep at all now that i redid the tubing. i'm not sure wht the hrc or star kits are set at from the factory, but w/o a boost controller, it would goto the level of the spring, unless you adjust it on the wastegate. my friend w/ a turbo teg has a deltagate on there and it has adjustment knobs or whatever. he has a 7lb spring and is running a lil over 5...any help? so yeh, the boost would run to what you have it set at and then stop going any higher, you wouldn't have to let off of the gas (unless you were like me and didn't get any readable instrucstions w/ u're profecB and had to fiddle around a lil bit).....

hey thanks cleared up alot. So it is just a good idea all around to get a boost controller right off the bat, huh?

GahaHahah I'm sure anyturbo gets more blowby. If your stage 1 don't mess with the boost unless you got an intercooler, like I said the engine bay will get HOT, haha hot enough to melt Weapon Rice breathers. Intercooler will help keep that temp down, haha it's amazing how hot that pipe gets. My first autox oil all over the engine, blowby is normal when you overboost your engine and fry your rings and get oil splurtin all over the place is when your licked. 14.85 @4psi unofficial baby! :)
