well i just got done with my hrc stage 2 install. its 1:00 in the morning here. i have a few questions.
1.i'm hitting about 6 psi and i can't seem to gert the fuel pressure to go over 80 psi. thats as high as it goes.

2.everyone says the fuel pump is damn loud. Mine isn't loud at all. i can barely hear the thing. i have to put my ear down to it to even see if its working.

3.i have a wierd sound coming from the intake maniflod area. its some where near the fuel rail. we thought it was an exhaust leak but that wasn't it. so that kind of gives you an idea of what the wierd sound sounds like. any ideas. maybe its suposed to sound like that.

the car seems to run find other than that though its great. its a lot faster.

dude, my fuelpump is about obnoxious as scraping your fingers down a black board. not totally thou, it doesn't send shivers down your spine, but it's really loud and really high pitched. i'm beginning to get used to it thou, i'll pull up to a stop light and sound like a jet engine...lots of looks..mmm

yeah, I get that too sometimes. It's moody on how it sounds.

I had the same thing happen to me and what happened was I wired the relay wrong and bew the inline fuse. I ran it a couple times at 6 psi and the fuel pressure wouldn't go past 80. I would put my ear up to the pump and it sounded like it was flowing, but it wasnt loud. It really wasn't even working. You may want to double check your relay wiring and fuel lines etc (check that fuse 1st and see if its blown)... and make sure that they are right. That pump is pretty loud, you'll know when its working.

I know its a little off topic, but how hard was the install??

I've installed 4 hrc kits (stage 1 and 2s) and my last stage 1 install that didnt require custom fabrication took about 18 hours with egt/air-fuel meter wiring and doing the work myself...

well i found out the problem with the pump. the distribution block i was using was bad. now i know why everyone was complaining about how loud the pump is. oh well.

about the install it wasn't all that hard. it was just very time consuming. me and my friend had never done anything like that ever before. to give you an idea of how long it took here are the hours.....Saturday 10:00am-9:00pm (we thought we where almost done) Sunday 11:00am-1:00am(monday morning). we worked about 24 hours in a 48 hour period on my car. is was tired and soar the next morning.

Ahahaha, I was about to call HRC and ask for their new fuel pump. :) Welcome to hovercraft-turbine-sound world. Get a "Powered by Boeing" sticker.

I would 100% recommend you do the install yourself. The only hard parts imho, are drilling the oilpan hole, routing and securing the fuel system, and hacksawing the downpipe. The rest is just screwing bolts on and off. You'll get to know where things are so when they break, you'll be able to fix it quicker.

If you're only getting 6psi on a Stage 2 and hear weird noises, check for boost leaks.

i'm going to check for leeks this weekend and i'm still running the stock exhaust so htat might be the problem also. i gutted out the cat though when i had everything off.
