i went to a place across the street and they said for 250$ they'd do 3" pipes all the way back after the cat. i WANTED them to do it from the downpipe, but they said under law they coulnd't remove the cat, even thou it's a highflow cat already. bummer. anyone got any ideas? i remembered super30g got 4" all the way back, i'm not pushing as much boost as him, but i'd rather go all out now than have to sell it and upgrade later, like i'm doing now w/ all my sht. ya know? i plan on getting a bottom end kit, bigger injectors etc, but not much further than that (as least that's the plan for now). what do you guys think about that price and that dia. piping? i wasn't planning on running a muffler so if it went straight back i'd want some big ass pipes. rite now my tip fit's perfect into the cutout in our rear bumper (it's 4" if i remember correctly)...

that is a very good price for a 3" catback. (most go for $400-$600)Just make sure that it is mandrel bent and not pressure bent.
as far as not having a muiffler on the end.. well whatever pleases u I guess. Good luck with the Police.

it wouldn't be manderl bent, the shop would make it, and NOBODY does that kind of bending anywhere around here. does it make that much of a difference which type of bending?

what mandrel bending does is NOT reduce the diameter of the tube when is bent, so it will be 3" all the way out.
I guess the choice is yours, it should not matter much if you don't have big power plans. If you are thinking of going into a tage 2 turbo setting or above, I would really recommend you do it "right" the first time.
As far as the diameter of the catback if you are not planning on boosting over 300 hp you will not need anything bigger than a 2.5"
(if you are going to press bend the pipe then I say go 3" so that where it is bent it will go down to an acceptable size).

cool, yeh..thanks. i plan on going stage3, so 3"mandrel pipes maybe...no shop i've been to around here does custom piping thou that is mandrel bent. any ideas? i got the greddy sp rite now but it's got tini pipes for what i'm doing and planing to do. any ideas?

i would consider the thermal exhaust setup, last i checked they only made thm for the gst, i'm assuming it would fit an rs just fine thou, rite? at this point i'd rather just save my $ and get it from a local shop. under 300 is a lot better than under 600$.
