I finally ordered the RRE catchcan but according to the guy and the pictures it has 1 inlet, 1 outlet and a drain. The inlet, the guy said comes from where the pcv valve is. Hm...Im hooking it up to the crankcase breather. The guy also said the other line attaches to the other side of where the pcv valve is. I know exactly what the guy is talking about but Im not using it the way they are using it. Im going from the crankcase breather. What do I do with the outlet?? Should I just run it from crankcase breather to the catchcan, then to the air filter where it should be anyways? Or should I just block off the outlet in some way??

to my understanding there are two in/outlet on the catch can.

eitherway you connect the crank case line to one of the "XXXlets" and in theory you are done. However to make it somg legal, some people (yours truely) runs a seprate line from the other outlet to teh intake tract of the turbo to comply with CARB.

works good on mine also. it has two inlets so you can hook both the breather and the pcv if you want to. atleast i believe thats what they're there for

according to the guy its made to connect to the crankcase ventilation system. basically, where the PCV valve is. i dont need it there, i need it at the breather. do you guys just block off the other inlet since theres only 1 crankcase breather or do you run a hose to the air filter also?? the guy told me the other inlet would have to be sealed if im not running it somewhere. also, how does the drain work?? does it drain automatically or do i have to mess with it to drain it. if it drains as it takes in oil then its the most pointless thing ive ever seen since my host from breather does that. im trying to fix my wheels getting oil covered in 15mins though.

there is a little red lever that is used for draining. it is the same apparatus as a titration funnel. When the lever is 90* to the catch can, it is close.

I mounted mine right near the lower part of the bumper, behind that protusion next to the fog light. there is a metal sheet there. great spot in case the catchcan opens. Atleast the spill will get on the ground and not in the engine bay. Also it is sheilded from water and dust.

rubber plugs come with the catch can for the inlet and outlet arms. Just leave the one side on.

yeah what jeff said. plug one "arm" to the breather and keep the other plugged it does not need to connect to anything.

Is a catch can necessary? If so where can I order one?

If you're turbo, and use HRC's route-the-breather-back-into-the-filter recommendation... (black silicone hose coming from right side of DOHC cover going into filter) you probably have some oil coming out your air filter and dripping all over the engine compartment. If this bothers you, buy one from www.roadraceengineering.com or similar.

HRC told me that blowby was caused by "excess crankcase pressure" and that my engine probably had something wrong with it. Fortunately, I found out that oil blowby was normal in turbo cars. Not sure why HRC hasn't figured this out yet. Probably to save money on a catch can.
