I hooked up a fuel pressure guage to the service port on the fuel rail. Also, I have a 1995 ESi, and the stock fpr is stuck on the fuel rail.

I hooked up a boost guage to my hand pump and simulated boost into my adjustable Vortec FMU...

@ 5psi my fuel pressure reads ~65 psi... uhm something's wrong here I think... :(
@ 10psi it reads 90 psi

What gives? It's already using the largest calibration disk..,Is my fuel pump having a hard time building pressure? Is it leaking? I can get the fuel pressure to go over 100psi but that is at 12+ psi...

Or is there something wrong with my FMU...??

I've already set static pressure to 50psi...and according to the fuel pressure chart that came with it, I should be getting 85 psi @ 5 psig!

I don't know if this is a sign of leaking...but the fuel pressures don't remain constant...they steadily drop back down after the FMU sees some boost. Is this because I'm not using a constant supply of compressed air, but rather a hand pump that I occasionaly pump to maintain X psig?

Should I be alarmed? What could be wrong? I've tightened the fuel line from the fuel rail to FMU to make sure it's not leaking...

help...I can't boost.. :(

Something has to be wrong. I get about 85psi of FP @ 5-6psi of boost.

If it is the fuel pump I have sent an e-mail to you guys about the direct replacement.

I doubt it, they are pretty simple devices

Could be, maybe something is different by pumping pressure.
If you have a FP gauge, do a quick run and see what your FP rises to. the FP should go to 85pss instantly once into boost.

yes, I do have a fuel pressure guage, but it's a mechanical in engine bay one...I don't know how I can manage to take a look at it while I drive my car......

s'what i plan to do when i get mine, just to make sure i'm getting high enough fuel pressure.

Gawd, i'm gonna need new tires soon....
