13309, Should I trust a homemade MBC?

Someone is selling them on DSM trader for $30. Can homemade ones be trusted? Or is there a cheap "brand name" MBC?

You need to be sure that if the spring broke, the MBC valve would open and let the wastegate open. If it stays shut, then you'll just keep boosting. I guess you'd also want to buy from a guy that other people have used. If he didn't make it right, it might not work as well as it could. I got a $50 one from Joe P and many others have gone that route to. But sometimes it seems like such a waste to spend so much money on such a simple item. The parts cost like $10 at most.

Homemade ones work perfectly as long as they are done right.

One of the guys in the local DSM chapter uses one he made on his 12 second GSX. 25psi and holding strong. Cost him 8 dollars in parts at the local hardware shop.
