What's up fellow Eclipse owners. I have a 98 RS, that I am in the process of going turbo. I have ordered my Star Stage II kit from Wyatt, and can't wait to receive it. I have a few questions, first will I have to upgrade anything else other than what I get with the kit. Will I have to upgrade my ignition, turbo timer, or any other electronical related equipement, in order to properly tune my car for the new turbo system. If anyone has any suggestions, brands, or past experiences, please let me know. As soon as it is all done I will post some shots of my car.

the list can go on and on of what too add, just put on the kit and see how much you still want to spend. might want engine internals might want more fuel control (ie. Safc and injectors)
gonna want a air/fuel meter and EGT guage for tuning etc.. the mods can be endless.

If you get the kit and keep it at low boost then you'll only need a turbo timer, and i'd say an a/f and egt gauge.
But when you start turnning up the boost 8-10psi thisng will start to wear. Some car last longer than others. I've been at 8psi for about 6-8 months, but i'm in need of a engine rebuild now. Others have gone 1-2 years at 8-10 psi with no probs.
So if you stay at 7psi (on the stage II) you should be fine for long time, unless you beat on the car everyday.
I'd say when your ready to start upgrading after you've had the kit and are comfortable with working on it, get...
afc & injectors (good for 8-10psi safely)
ignition system w/ retard control (now good up to 12 MAX)
upgraded internals
and so on...

turbo timers aren't 100% necessary. It's more of a cosmetic option than anything.

Out of the box, at the boost level the kit is set at, you won't need anything except an AF gauge and an EGT gauge. Fuel pressure is nice, but not a necessity.

If you plan on upping the boost, or working towards high boost levels, consider an engine rebuild with JE pistons an Eagle or Crower rods, an Apexi SAFC, and some larger injectors. A better IC would also be nice, as i think the STAR IC seriously degrades efficiency at anything over 10PSI.

Cosmetic? I wouldnt say that. They serve a purpose. If you want your turbo to have a long healthy life, it will need a sufficient cool down before shutting the car off. Unless you want to sit in your car and let it idle every time you turn it off or go somewhere, a turbo timer is a good idea. :P
