13176, do you know of a quiet fuel pump Posted by ez, Jan-09-02 10:43 AM
I've heard all of the complaints about HRC's fuel pump. Is there another one out there on the aftermarket... should I wait for one to come out?

oh, the dreaded loud fuel pump. i used to complain about mine constantly for the first month i was turbo but ever since, i don't even notice it anymore. as for ur question, i'm pretty sure there's no aftermarket fuel pump that is quieter. i don't think there's any really proven ways around it, some people are just luckier then others. that's my 2 cents

I've got the Accela (I think) that came with the Hahn Stage 2, it's just loud enough to be heard, and I love it. Girls are always saying "What's that noise?" I just love explaining it to them. :)

The Supra pump will fit and apparently will supply you all the fuel you will ever need. Just make sure your FPR is up to the taks of holding all that fuel pressure back.
I wouldn't count on the Cartech model, either.

What kind of Fueal pump does the HRC come with?
I was complaining a lot too, but after the first month I don't even notice it anymore.
I kind of like and other people always ask and say they like that it does that.
Oh yeah I heard there is a mod you can do to it to make it opperate beter and so it will not be as loud....

Bad overkill (causing problems) or good overkill (more fuel than you'll ever need) ???
Cause I HATE my fuel pump. Its so loud it vibrates the steering wheel. I have people coming out of buildings trying to figure out what the hell that noise is. This is AFTER being wrapped in 1" blanket of foam and mounted with rubber mounts.
I was gonna run the Walbro 225lphHP and the inline Accel pump simultaneously, but if I can add a clean, simple, in-tank like the supra TT, I'd happily pay $200+ to get rid of that horrible whine.
Which would be better? 2 pumps, or 1 overkilling pump? Cuz the Accel is NOT cutting it :)
Thx, Dan Green 99'RS

May I recommend you go with NipponDenso pumps. They are super quiet! The Supra pump works good for DSMs.

I run the Supra intank and it's very quiet (hardly noticeable). I forget the exact spec on the pump, but I think it's something like 240 lph (don't quote me on that though). If this single pump will not support any 400+ whp car, I don't know any other single pump that will (that it's a direct fit, quite, and a reasonable price).
