12669, Question about turbo install...
Posted by ExcessTalonESi, Dec-24-01 06:58 AM
Just curious, but I called to see how my HRC Stage 2 kit was going and I was told that they had no place to put the Fuel Pressure regulator (I think that's what it was) and so they had to get rid of the cruise control and use that or something to that effect. Just curious if that happened to anyone else that installed this kit. It's not a big deal because I don't use my cruise control except on LONG trips (which I go on every.....3 years or more). TIA!

well they may have taken out the cruise to make room for it but they didn't have to. They should have looked a little harder for open space or been a little more creative.

I took out the windshield washer reservoir and bolted it to the firewall.

Hehehe...they got it fixed. Found a place for it up top. Anyway, got my car back with the turbo. I'm only running 5 psi right now....BUT GOD !@##@$#@$@#@$%^ DAMN! Oh my god, I have new found love for my car! This is friggen BAD ASS! With my redone exhaust and all, it sounds like a BEAST! Anyone know what I can race and have a good chance with at just 5 psi? My friend said I should be able to give Trans-ams a run for their money. Anyway, just curious! TIA!

I have my FPR directly under my cruise control. Ray drilled a hole through the cruise control box so that an allen wrench can fit through it to adjust the fuel pressure.

Hey bro I actually welded the mounting bracket of my car tech to the rear of the battery tray. I felt there was a need to have it removable. Its flush with the tray sorta hangin iff the back. Yet it is easy to get to. late mike
12677, FPR placement (HRC)

If they did as the directions indicated, they would find where HRC had intended for the FPR to go.

If you are under the car, directly where the cruise control goes in its stock location, you'll find some unused bolt hols on the passenger side of the engine bay wall. Detach the upper bracket of the c/c from the lower bracket, and simply relocate the upper bracket with the c/c attached to the bolt holes I mentioned above.

It will now sit in the lower part of the engine bay on the passenger side engine bay wall. The FPR takes the place of the c/c on the lower bracket.
