what did you guys use to cut the piping?

dont tell me a hacksaw, lol, thatll take 15 years

thinking ill tya circular saw with a metal cutting blade...

Pipe cutter (looks like a monkey wrench)

you can use a sawz-all with metal cutting blades or the circular saw idea. Whatever it takes "gitter dun!"

I just found out Lowe's does pipe cutting, gonna see how much they charge a cut and see how much a pipe cutter cost...do which ever costs the least, hehe

how well do the pipe cutters work when you have to cut on a bend tho, like with the "u" sections?

starting figuring everything out, and i think ive got the lower IC piping figured out, and still have room for the filter and upper IC...gonna get that done then start the upper :)

heh coo, I used a electric hacksaw. Cuts through that pipe like butter. :)

hey bro the easiest way to do it and get the proper straight angle is a chop saw. Its super easy and every single muffler shop out there has one. later mike

ended up using a hacksaw afterall, lol

finished cutting the piping today. just need to weld on the bov flange and paint the piping (either aluminum color like i used ot have the valve cover before i polished it, or glass black kinda like the hahn piping, any opinions?)

for the people w/ the hahn stage 1 wanting to add their own fmic's, heres what i used:

1st off, i had the end tanks of the spearco modded so the inlet and outlet are on the driver side


for the turbo-to-fmic, used the first 90* bend from the hahn turbo-tb pipe, then another 90 to bring the piping down, into a 45* bend, and then into a U-bend to the fmic. u have to cut them to fit obivuosly, but those are the bends need.

for the fmic-to-t/b i used the first section of pipe from the hahn stage 1 pipe, then a 90* to bring the pipe down, into a 45 and then into a U. actually didnt have to cut anything from the 90 and 45 on this side.

used couplers made from the rubber coolant hosing from RRE :)

oh and had to do some trimming of the body kit front fascia :/

How are you going to bead the ends? To keep the hoses from popping off?

well, im hoping i dont have too. i was blowing off hoses all day today, then i used a scoket wrench (instead of the screwdriver style) and two hi-torque clamps per side (instead of 1)on the couplers that were coming off, and have been fine since.

if i do have to end up beading the ends, ill either do the ghetto epoxy trick, or take em to a welder to weld a bead.

RRE has a good tutorial on how to bead piping. Beading piping is a good idea hehe if it's a tight fit. Popped my piping during an autox like 3 times not fun. You can weld beads on like I had a fabrication shop do to my intercooler or you use tape and epoxy to make beads, did that to a couple of my pipes and it worx great!

nice intercooler dude, that beats the hell out of my starion ic, I bet your piping is hella higher quality than my junkyard crap hehe :P

my piping is just the mandrel bends from JC Whitney painted black with engine enamel.
