12145, Star Turbo owners!!!

Hey I'm trying to get some info on weather or not to buy stage 2 w/ball bearing. Have any of you drove both the reg stage2 and the bb stage 2. If so is it really worth the 600 bucks. I need oponions of people that have drove this type of set up not people that just want to voice their oponion. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.
Also I know the e-trim is bigger but what exactly does it improve on if it makes any improvements at all.
TIA

E TRIM is like a ported turbo, it can flow more air (MORE HP!), and it runs cooler from what I heard. Haha I have the BB and I havne't any idea what the difference is, 600 bucks + haha wish I hadn't of gotten it. This turbo better last forever :P

What I hear is that ceramic BB can take heat better, last longer, less frictions, and saves more gas. I can't compare to a normal turbo though cuz I've had the BB ever since.

Try to wait for the NER kit dude. It's almost there. It fixes a lotta stuff the star kit had problems with.

E-trim is a newer design garrett compressor. Like a 2g eclipse and a 1G eclipse. Its more efficient (its newer it should be) over a broader curve but not neccessarily able to flow anymore air than a B trim (depending on compressor housing, exducer, inducer and wheel size ect). For the $100 I paid it cant hurt.

Cant help with Question 1. Even had I drove a ball bearing I'm sure my 10.5C has effects on response.

I'd would rather spent the $600 on a better IC. I heard that the IC that came with the kit sucks.

I know this doesn't directly answer your Q, but as far as the trim, I'd keep the smaller turbo for spool up. Unless you're planning on going up to 20+ psi, you shouldn't need the bigger trim. So, if you get the bigger one, you'll be getting more lag and paying more money. That is, again, unless you're planning on really boosting it up.

Remember that's just my opinion, but I wish I would have gone w/ the smaller trim.

As for the BB option, I have it and have not driven the sleeve type on my car. But, you can read Wyatt's opinion at www.turbogs.com under customer rides (or something like that).

I don't have the BB turbo or E trim on my kit..... and for the extra money that you would be spending on that I would have to agree to buy a better Intercooler.....cause these intercoolers suck big time....
