11951, Time to rebuild, so I need some info..... Posted by speedracer21, Dec-10-01 01:33 AM
Well i my compression is going to sh$t.. http://63.99.108.81/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=read_count&om=2005&forum=DCForumID16 So i need to start buying all the parts to have it rebuilt. I'm going to get the bottom end kit from howell, but i also want to get new valves, lifters, retainers, etc.. for the top end. But i need some info on what exactly to get and from where to get it. So if you have any links, or phone numbers to places where i can get parts let me know thanks!!

You can get the entire valve train at howell as well.

I will probably be rebuilding in a few months . Keep us posted on how everything is going. I also plan on doing my whole valve train and just about anything else that will make the engine like new.

"Stroker" is the term applied to a motor that has been modified in such a way the the "stroke" of the motor (the up and down movement of the pistons) has been lengthened to create more displacement. You start with 2L, and stroke it to 2.3 or 2.3L.. and yes you can use it with a turbo ;-)

No, you can't. the 2.4L block won't fit under our hood without modification to the motor mounts and possibly the subframe, and the 2.4L is a low rev design complete with balance shafts. Why bother?

yeah our internals are pretty awesome already, just I think the rings are probably the weakest link though.
