11762, Anyone in Mass turbo'd?
Posted by Deze2g, Oct-30-01 12:46 PM
I was just wondering about passing inspection. As i posted before, i was planning on selling my car (i already have a buyer) and getting a 5 speed GS-T. Well i found another RS, REAL MuthaFukkin cheap, i'm not saying where, but under $2000 =). Just needs a hood (6 vent), front bumper (strada f1) , fender (z3), and PS headlight, i already have projectors i can use. If i get this i will easily have money for a turbo, so i won't need the GS-T. Did anyone in Mass have trouble passing inspection with a turbo? I was thinkin stage 2 BB with FMIC =). I might not hafta leave 2gnt yahhhhh
Thanks guys

All you gotta do is slip a C bill in Mr. Inspectors pocket.

Dalton, it's on the west end of mass. Is your car an actual GS-T or a turbo'd GS. Cuz i heard they won't pass a naturally aspirated car with an aftermarket turbo.

Oh yeah, I'd like to know the answer to this too since i'm planing to go turbo also. That would suck if we won't pass.... I'd have to save up for an evolution.

Well i have 2 sets of bad news, first off the RS was sold so im on the look again, and second i asked a few people about inspection, they said unless you get a REALLY cool inspection guy, the only other way to pass is to hit the guy off with a face card, or if you know someone that can get you an illegal sticker, DAMNIT, well it's either GS-T or Florida time. I'll see soon.
Peace

Just find schmuck who doesn't know what he's looking at. Seriously... most of the mechanics around here wouldn't know if it was supposed to be turbo'd or not.

I know where theres a 95 talon TSI with 60k and for aroun 8k. only downside is its an auto.

Things might have changed since I left Springfield but when I was there there was plenty of shops who didn't really give a shit what you had wrong with your car (or done to it). If its like it was all you really have to do is find some one with a fucked up car and a good inspection sticker and ask him where he had his done.

11773, where the heck are you mass guys?!?!

Ok, now, I'm going to have to corall in the wayward new england people here.

How come NONE of you guys are on the New England DSM mailing list!?!?! (with the exception of Bill, we've shot some pool when he came down to RI a little while ago, BTW Bill, I want to see what you've done to that car now!)

EclipzGST, Black OZ, get on the list! You should keep in touch with what's going on with the other DSM guys in the area. Especially you EclipzGST, what with having a 4G63 and all. You should be checking that mailing list nad talking to the other guys on it EVERY DAY to get the best info around for 4G63 DSMs.

Get on to www.yahoogroups.com and sign up for the new englnad DSM list.

Tomorrow, down in RI at Hooters in Warwick (yes, that's where we go on sundays to hang out at times) there will be a bunch of NEDSM members from arond RI and from Mass showing up around 2:00 - 2:30. I'll be there around 3:30. You guys should see if you can come down. Give me an e-mail and I can give directions, just click my name (VX100) on the main page where the moderators' names are listed to send me an e-mail.

Deze2G, Dalton is quite a drive but you should still get on the list. NED has a two import events, it's worth keeping in touch with the list to meet up with everyone for those events at least. And, if you end up occationally going to the monthly meetings it's good to see who is heading up.

It really stinks that I got stuck working on Sundays at night (4:00-11:00) and I can no longer make it to out Sunday meeting place. As for what I have done lately: not a whole heck of a lot. I threw a set of motor mount inserts in, and bought a set of 3000GT VR-4 rims. I just need the spacers to get the damned things to fit, but I canna wait to feel how the 245s will handle! ;-) I have go to get back down there for a meet sometime. I think that somebody had mentioned a meet on the 23rd, oh yeah, that was Logic. I can make that, just a matter of when and where I should be. MAybe we can get another game of pool goin' on. Anyways, man, hit me up with an e-mail if you are ever bored, as I have a whole month off from school for break (maybe even more, if financial aid can't cough up any more money).

The1Bill: I'll give you a call on the 23rd.

Looking forward to meeting you guys.

I AM on the list. I don't post too often though. Also, I work 2nd shift so doin the NE Dragway on Wed nights is impossible and weekends are rough too. I WILL make it to Hooters eventually though!!!
We all should definetly try to have a meet for NE members of this board.
I had tryed to talk to a few people that had NEDSM shirts on at "Import Day" and they didn't seem very freindly. Unless you have a 1G that runs 12's or a Gallant VR-4 they're just like yeah whatever. Lord knows what kind of looks I would have gotten from them had I mentioned I was AT. :)

11777, see you guys soon
