When you throttle your car at maybe 1/4 (cruisung) as your RPMs go up does your vaccumm increase. My car steadily increases vaccumm as my engine speed increase when i partial throttle it. If I gun it of course then I go into boost and it's like if i even let off a tiny bit I loose the spool. I think I have a big vaccumm leak cuz 1)idle pressure @ 15 in Hg 2) I can hear a hiss right under my TB next to the battery. Anyone know if there is a vaccumm line running there?.. THanks

I idle at around 17in hg. And my boost control vac line is right around that area but, thats just were i routed them. I think most of the vac lines should be behind the intake mani area....

I vacuum at 19 once the engine is warm. When its cold, I vac at 15 or so.

The reason why your vacuum lowers as you accelerate partial throttle is because you are letting more air in, which reduces the vacuum pressure in the intake manifold. If you had a boost/vac gauge hooked up without a turbo, the needle would be exactly at "0" at full throttle because the ambient pressure and the intake pressure are equal.

I'm talking bout the vaccumm INCREASING say from 5 HG to 10 HG..more vaccumm. I can't seem to find the leak, I know all the vaccumm lines are Tee'd off the back off the manifold, but I don't know what would be near the TB. I tell you sometimes I just feel like selling this POS..if it's not one thing, it's everything.

its really not that big of a deal...you shouldnt get angry...if you didnt install or atleast now how to install something on your car( and how it works completely) than you shouldnt have bought it in the first place. take the turbo off of take it to a technician.

Dude...check it out. Just check all your vaccume lines. It's that simple. Don't get mad...cause that's not going to solve anything. There are not that many lines to the kit. If you still can't find what's wrong, change the lines. If that's not the problem...take it to a place where they install turbo kits. They will help you. Or... just keep posting here asking people, someone on this board has had that problem, or something similar!! Now that I think of it...check your boost gauge! I've had mine leak there before:P Good luck!!!

Why dont you tell him why he has increasing vacuum under throttle since no one else seems to know how this sh*t is happening and its no big deal. If it's near the throttle body and there are no lines there, I'd suspect the throttle body - intake mani gasket or the line that comes off the top of the throttle body, hooks a 90* turn and heads toward the drivers side.

Nothing to be mad about. Relax, smaoke a cogarette, get some sleep, them go mess with it.

hey alvin,
your vacuum is rising as you increase throttle? that's weird. i know that vaccum is supposed to lower as you increase throttle. are you measuring this with your boost gauge? i know that there is a idle control servo behind the throttle body, and if that is not working you may have some funny vacuum problems cause the servo may be opening and closing at the wrong times. the only vacuum line i know of at the throttle body is the one that goes to that evap canister thing, that is on the top of the throttle body. when i am at cruise and i increase throttle my vacuum will drop then increase a little until boost comes on then it will eventually go to boost, but like dino said the only vac line is on top of the throttle body, and if there is a leak it may be coming from there or the seal between the idle control servo and the throttle body.

Well found the leak..the dreaded EGR pipe melted the vaccumm line to the EGR transducer. Still getting the 15 in Hg and increased vaccumm under partial throttle. Oh and Fullserve I bet you're the cocky type dat thinks you know everything. Why tha hell do you think everyone's on this board for?..Uh, maybe cuz we don't know how things work and need some help. FYI I work on my car, yes i get my little paws dirty and know alot bout OUR cars. If you don't know what it's like breaking shit all the time then you haven't spent much time on your car, yes it's true. So step off.

I read 15.517 in hg from my map sensor on idle after warm up.. is that bad cause my car runs fine. All new vaccume lines and all checked and tightened so I dont think there would be a leak, none you can hear, see, or feel running my hands down the lines...
