1100, Does anyone have info on cryogenics? Posted by Phat99Eclipse, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
I was wanting to put together a built up bottom end in a spare block and was looking at different options...
I know I can go with forged pistons and stronger rods, but what are our options as far as cryogenic? Can this process make a stock rod as strong as or stronger than the crowers? I don't have alot of experience (ok none, are you happy now?...j/k) with this subject. At the prices they list on the website below, could be a viable alternative if it truly makes the parts 200-300% stronger...

Let me know if I am fooling myself...

Im not really sure how expensive it is to have your parts cryo treated... But as for the pistons you might as well go with JE forged if you are going to go through the trouble of rebuilding. But on the same token you should look into having your cylinder head treated since aluminum does warp easily due to excessive heat..
