109012, Aeromotive 1:1 and 420cc injectors Posted by eclipse9504, Oct-06-11 08:49 AM
I'm building my fuel system and I was wondering if I can use an Aeromotive 1:1 regulator with 420cc injectors and use an safc to dial back injecotr pulse? I've searched and could not find anything pertaining to these parts used together. Do I need the sfmu or can I get away with the 1:1 and turn down the fuel pressure. I'm running 9 lbs of boost and going to run -6 line for supply and return.
Thanks

No a 1:1 FPR will not work for your application. Yes you can dial down the fuel pressure and get the car to run at idle and in vac. But as soon as you boost you will lean out just like you are running stock injectors. You would need some way to tune the injectors to provide more fuel. IE Megasquirt. Or you can run the SFMU and use fuel pressure to inject more fuel.
Your SAFC is not powerful enough to control injectors that large, but you could run the SFMU and make small adjustments with the SAFC to dial in the A/F ratio

Thanks, that's what I thought. I just wanted to make sure. I've read about using the 1:1 and megasquirt but that's not my case. I appreciate the help
