106876, 14b on t3/4 manifold problems

Well I wanted to run the 14b turbo that I have for my 420a build and thought it would work with this adapter- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380135117143&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&salenotsupported

It does not on the cast manifold like they say unfortunately. The holes for the bolts get in the way. You can put the adapter on the manifold, but you can't screw on the turbo. Or you can bolt it onto the turbo but then you can't get it onto the manifold.

How the heck can I get this 14b onto a t3 manifold? The only way I can think at this point is bolting the turbo onto the adapter plate then welding that on. But then I'd never be able to get the turbo off since it the bolt holes would be unaccessable! Any help is appreciated :(

cut the flange form the turbo and weld on a t3 flange! way simpler!

That wouldn't be a bad idea...cheap enough too- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/T3-T3-T4-Turbo-Manifold-Inlet-FLANGE-Mild-Steel-1-2_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a1171Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem518adbff5bQQitemZ350222024539QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

I just want to make sure I'll have access to all 4 bolt holes once I weld it onto the turbo. Thanks for the idea!

The bolt heads get in the way? You should use studs instead.

Right, the bolt heads get in the way. I thought about countersinking them but that still wouldn't solve the problem. If I put the turbo on the adapter first, then I can't access the bolts for the adapter to the manifold...The turbo flange covers up the holes a little.

Just trying to think how studs would work?

Just screw studs in till they are flush with the flange, then you wont have anything sticking out to get in the way.
