Just a quick question about the oil return line for my 420a/14b combo...

All the "how to's" and oil return line kits I've seen tell you to weld the oil return bung to your oil pan then use I think 4an braided line. But wouldn't it be much easier just to get 2 of something like this?

Then instead of welding on the oil pan, I could just tap 2 little holes for that adapter? Then use some good ol' rubber tubing for the return...Would there be any issue with this?

That's basically what I have. It seep leaks a bit, nothing major - just enough to make the pan look dirty. The main issue is oil bleeding back through the screw holes; I've covered the inside heads with silicone to try to stop it. if you don't/can't weld it, it'll do, but welding is just preffered.

Okay thanks for the reply, I can weld to a certain extent. This just seems like it'd be an easier and more cost effective method if it works alright :)


Another quick question about the coolant lines...

Is one location better than the next to Tee off the lines for the coolant on the turbo? I was just going to split off the heater hose in front of the engine for the supply line then wasn't sure what to do for the return.

Heck, I'll sell you my old pan already welded w/ a pipe return for $30 shipped (big box) if you want it... it's seen alot of use and has served me well.

Careful on your return line.. using heater hose, rubber hose, etc might be a bad idea in the long run. Hot oil running through them will degrade them and break down the material.. which is gonna run into your pan, be circulated through the engine & turbo, and that's bad news.

Buy this man's pan, get an adapter much like the one you linked only -10an (or whatever size his return bung on the pan is) and some SS braided line from ATPturbo.com

Btw -4an is way too small for a return.. you need -10an or 1/2". My oil FEED line is 4.
