106520, Started to gather stuff for my build. Posted by EclipseOZ99, May-30-09 08:34 PM
Hey guys i came across a deal i couldn't pass up on a Hahn Stage 2 Turbo Kit. I am picking up JE 8:8:1 pistons and crower I beam rods sometime this week, and i already have Fidanza cam gears, BEGI Fmu, TurboXs RFL Bov, Triple gauge pod with autometer pro comp gauges, ARP head studs, 6 puck clutch and walbro 255 fuel pump. I picked everything up for $500 off a guy who spun a Rod and just wants it gone everything is in good working order except the block. I cannot use the block because it has a scared cylinder wall but im gonna take the rods and pistons out and find a good block to have bored .20 over. im hopefully gonna pick up everything else later in the week. The car wont be done until the begining of next year because i have to set back money to get a new block and have it machined, and it is my daily so i can't go without it. That and i have alot to research before i begin this task. Anyways heres the pics of what i have so far.

Good price for what you got as long as the parts are usable. From the picture you posted however those do not appear to be ARP head studs though. Better check yourself on that. Also you are going to want some form of fuel management and pressure regulation.
And check the classifieds, I have a block and crank for sale cheap.

They might say ARP but those are definitely not studs. Those are head BOLTS.
ARP does sell a head stud kit for our cars, with nuts. Plus, if those are used you do NOT want to use them again. Once head bolts are installed they stretch and although its not always obvious to the naked eye, their strength is compromised.
Do yourself a favor and throw those out & buy new ARP hardware.

There not bolts they have threads on both sides and a 12 point nut and washer i just have the nut screwed on to them.

I could be mistaken but by head bolts you mean 1 piece correct? If thats the case they are not bolts but you guys know more then i do so ill let you decide.
Thanks for the help Robbie

Yeah then they're studs with nuts. The pic isn't extremely clear, looked like bolts (1 piece)
