Well I’m finally putting in a vacuum manifold, and am looking for a sanity check on changing around my vacuum lines... my intentions are to remove all T-connectors, clean up all the lines, and hopefully get a better signal/response in the process.

1.) I’m going to reconnect all factory vacuum lines (e.g. cruise control, etc.) back to the three outputs on the (factory) intake manifold and run everything else off the vacuum manifold.

2.) I’ll be putting the vacuum manifold in-line with the brake booster since it has a much larger line.

3.) The vacuum manifold has six (6) taps with 1/8 nipples, so I figured to just run new 1/8 tubing to everything.

Looking on having a direction connection to the SFMU, Boost Gauge, and BOV... but had a question on MBC, wastegate, and turbo compressor. I like the simplicity of using the compressor, but I believe the vacuum manifold would provide a more accurate signal (yes?).

...just like the Golden Eagle manifold, it has a 3/4" boss plug and 3/4" boss plug > 1/2" barbed fitting

I wouldnt run the manifold supply vacuum from the brake booster. When I had a Silver Eagle vacuum box, I ran a 3/8 vac line off the back of the intake manifold to the vac box. Then ran all my vacuum lines from there.

Well... I really don't want to tap the intake manifold, and I haven't got a Venom (yet, you're a ways ahead of me - lol). I'm just trying to have something better than the current mess of T's, but admittedly not as nice as independant taps.

You arent tapping the manifold...there is a 3/8NPT thread already on there for the three way stock tee in it, take that out, put a 3/8 NPT to 3/8 nipple fitting on the intake and run that line to the vac box.

Interesting... never even considered that. Your reasoning being that you don't want to even remotely affect the brakes? HMmmmmmmmmmmmm...

That's how I ran my vacuum manifold. Replaced the three prong with a 3/8 barbed hose fitting to feed the vac manifold.

Just out of curiosity, was it very difficult to take the 3-prong fitting out or does it require some pb-blaster? (been seated in there for ~10yrs)

Shouldnt need any blaster at all.

Yeah I had to replace mine about 2 years ago on a 97 and it came right out with no prob

Last question (hopefully):
Safe to use 3/8 Fuel Injection Hose as the vacuum line off the intake?
