106307, Switched 12v in engine bay for FCD? Posted by Mike431635, Apr-26-09 04:39 PM
Which wire did you guys tap for the switched 12v for the FCD? I want to go ahead and do the FCD tomorrow after work but not sure which source to use without running a long wire inside to the cigarette lighter..

I ran a wire through the firewall down to the fuse box...The wires blend right in behind the intake manifold and it was fast and easy..

hook us both up then.. how should he and I rewire it
I had to run the wire for my wideband through the firewall anyway so I just brought the FCD inside and hid it while I was hiding the wideband wires

Im guessing your using a 4 wire FCD?

So thats it? Nobody can advise on this? I think I might run some long wires through the firewall from the MAP sensor and put the FCD right near the fuse box and just tap into a switched 12v there. It'll be away from engine bay heat that way. But I still want to know where a switched 12v source in the engine bay is..

On the ASD relay

I'm not sure where that is in the bay, but I assume I can follow the wires from the coil pack and locate it.
So, once I do find it, I assume #87A in the pic below will be the one I want to tap? I do have a multimeter, and I'll test before I do this, but it never hurt anyone to ask.
