Hey guys I am getting ready to install my SFMU and only have one more question about the installation. On the diagram on the Mod page it says to run 3 or so feet of the SS line from the supply line off of the fuel pump bracket to a universal fuel filter. I have a 97 and am fairly sure that my supply line is braized onto the hardline coming off of the fuel pump bracket. What is the process of correctly taking a -4an SS fuel line from that hardline to the universal fuel filter if the oem supply line is braized on?? I'm sure some people on here have been in this situation. Can anyone help me?

If you follow that diagram, you will completely remove the section from the stock fuel filter/fpr back to the fuel pump and replace it with SS hose and the universal fuel filter, and If I remember correctly it also replaces the whole stock supply hardline from that point to the fuel rail and in the write-up they use an aftermarket fuel rail. If you would like to keep the stock setup with the stock fuel filter, you can just remove the stock fpr and place a short bolt in it's spot with a copper washer to prevent leaks. Just make sure the bolt doesn't block fuel flow. Then, you will just have to install a return line from your SFMU and not even worry about the supply line.

I never even thought of doing that with the supply line. Has anyone else gone this route and gotten a short bolt to plug the fuel filter where the fpr once was? Sounds like a good idea but I'd have to have the whole assembly next to me to see exactly what you are talking about but that sounds like a good plan, appreciate the info thank you!

Thats what im doing now. I like the idea of still using the factory set up with factory parts. So im going to A-Zone today to get a bolt for that connection and a new filter. then it makes things simple.

one straight line from the bottom of the SFMU all the way back to the return nipple on the tank.

Yea that should make the install of the SFMU much simpler. Just running the fuel line from the SFMU to the return nipple on the pump bracket, then the supply line from the SFMU to the fuel rail with a fuel pressure gauge in line and then obviously the vacuum line.
