104885, Getting Nitrous kit soon and need help for 95 Posted by Mattcky2k, Oct-03-02 11:47 PM
Ok i've searched a lot for this subject and found some helpful stuff but i just want to be clear on some things before i do something stupid! anyway i have a 95 GS eclipse and it's true you can run a dry or wet kit on the 95 right? now what's better wet or dry? i know some people say wet is safer so i guess i'll go that route. and i've been looking into the Venom VCN-1000 system for my car but everywhere i go i can't find it for a 95 eclipse anyone know where i can find one? or any other place that i can find a venom or nitrous express kit for my car? i just want a pretty basic kit and only want about a 50 shot.TIA

A dry kit will be fine for anything up to a 75 shot. I've had mine for a while with no problems plus there ten times quicker and easier to hook up. I would def recommend a zex kit for a 95. I havent had any problems at all. plus It was all hooked up in less than 2 hours.

You won't find a Venmon kit for a 95 cause 95's have OBDI fuel systems which is why 95's need dry kits. All wet kits will be listed for OBDII systems (some 96's/97-99).
If you are just going to run a 50 shot then just buy a dry kit. No need to to put extra effort into a wet system for a 50 shot.

I'm pretty sure that the Venom kit is basically a dry kit in becuase it uses your injectors to supply the extra fuel for the nitrous. I'm sure you could run a dry kit on a 96 to a 99 but with not having a return line and FPR on the rail it would be more trouble than its worth that why its just easier to hook up a dry kit on a 95 cause we have those things available. :) You could def run a wet kit on a 95, you could run a wet kit on anything. But I would say if you wanna run more than a 75 to 80 shot def get a wet kit.

thanks for the help guys. i'll probably now go with a Zex kit. but i have another question...i think i know what a purge kit does...takes "extra" gas out of the liquid form of nitrous i think but i'm probably not right but anyway exactly how do purge kits work and when you have one can you just make the mist come from under your hood while just parked or how exactly does that all work too?
