I have a GSS342, but did not get a new harness with it or sock filter, do we take these off the stock or is this something I have to buy before starting the install.

Go here. I believe that the kit for our tank is #5. Follow the instructions for adapting into the stock mount here. The hose and clamps can be purchased from the same site or a local shop.
