104723, S-FMU install Posted by tnolo585, Nov-24-08 12:02 PM
So i recently bought a s-fmu thinking it was a fmu, lucky me right. anyways i tried researching on here and on other forums but still need some help. i have a 96 eclipse rs, hahn stg1 turbo w/ fmic boosting 5psi. i have a 255 lph pump. im working on a diagram, but just wanna know where to connect the vac. boost, and and the bottom(silver) by the static is another vaccum(i think) if anyone could clear this up for me, i would highly appreciate.thanks in advance.

You only connect the vac line to the top port. The other 3 - boost, vacuum, bleed I think do not go to anything. The vacuum port allows to you set your static pressure and then you can crack the vacuum screw so it will lean your idle out more if you need it. Screw the boost all the way in and leave it alone. And the same with the bleed valve unless you plan on using it. I blocked off all of them on mine and it worked fine. The vacuum port is nice but mine would leak under boost and lean the car out so I screwed that one in also.

There should be a test port on the end of your fuel rail (passenger side) you run a line from there to the side of the sfmu and then from the bottom of the sfmu back to your tank. The late model fuel systems were returnless so they did not have a return line going from the rail back to the tank, therefore, you need to add one here.

Agreed with Corey, but, reading your post I had this thought. (Yes it is a little off topic.) You say you have a S1, but with a Hahn FMIC. (So technically you have a S2, minus the wastegate.) Why on earth would you be running such a large intercooler while only running 5 PSI? You certainly have the ability to fill that intercooler with your current turbo; But, I think a SMIC would better suit your needs at 5PSI. As a side note you can push 7-9 PSI on stock internals since you now have a SFMU and are running a 255HP fuel pump. (As long as your engine isn't high mileage or has been badly beaten on.)
