Im taking out my heater core/ hard pipes, and from what ive seen on other peoples configurations, i can tap the T-stat with a 3/8 NPT, and that line would go to my turbo correct? I was wondering what size line i should use, its a Hahn s20G, with (i think) a 1/4" NPT in and out on the cartridge. i think i read some where that they are runnin SS -6AN, does that sound right?

Im also thinking about putting a water temp gauge on, id assume, id put the thermometer somewhere after the water has passed thru the turbo?? and what gauge range are you running? will the 120-140 be good, or the 120-300?

sine its already oil cooled (-4an) i would think that also water cooling will help the life and performance of the turbo.

Sure you can water cool the 20g and yes it should enhance life of the turbo. I run 10an water lines, mostly because i kept my heater core as well. The heater core can useful in cases where heat becomes an issue and as a way to de-fog the window if you get caught it rain. With that being said, if you insist on not keeping the heater core i would run 8an at least to make sure you have enough water flow. With the heat of the turbo, you dont want water to slow down and overheat inside the center section.

As far as a gauge, i would recommend 120-300.

I plan on doing away with the core b/c its going to be a summer only car, and i dont let her play in the water lol due to a vented hood.

heater core is good back up in case you start running hot.....Its saved me in the Texas heat a few times!

Hell ya its a good back up. I have an OBD2 scan gauge and when i'm running hot, i turn on the heater and watch the gauge. Temp drops 10+ degrees! :)
