I'm looking at a new blowoff valve and I'm kind of stuck in the midst of my deciding, I've narrowed it down to 3 different BOVs, Greddy RS, HKS SSQV, or Turbonetics Raptor...Does anyone have much info on each of them and how well they perform on our cars at 6 - 8psi? I have heard the SSQV causes some flutter in lower PSI ranges from a guy with an SRT4 but I want second (and third and so on) opinions on them if I can get them...Thanks guys...oh and I did use search couldnt find any posts about it :shrug

Is 6-8 psi the highest you are going to go? Anything 20psi and under all three would be fine i think. Never researched the raptor. The RS starts leaking boost around 20-22. HKS will leak around 28 i believe it is. Not sure about raptor. All three should be fine if you arent boosting high.

HKS being a pull type BOV, it does not really have a limit as the higher the boost the tighter it seals as the boost pushes against valve. Other BOV would leak before the SSQV under the same conditions. SSQV should have a max boost of 2 bar. The HKS Racing Type-II (and the newer Super SQV Racing Single Valve) has max of 3 bar.

I have a SSQV that i recently removed this year. It worked fine for me both at low boost and high boost. The flutter people refer to is kind of an oddity. If you put the filter directly on the turbo....no flutter at all, only a swoosh. I added a short 3" 45 degree pipe to move the filter off my turbo and the slight flutter came back. It never bothered me.

FWIW; my Tial 50mm BOV does the same shit.

Dude, where do you read all this stuff?

I don't. My buddy and I tried both in his srt4 has used the greddy type rs and it started leaking on him around 22. HKS started leaking on him around 28-29. I know it is a pull type BOV, but it still leaked.

Ive seen 28 psi on them, and im sure my friend could of done 30, but his intake temps were getting to hot. Who knows maybe your friend had a bad blow off valve or something. If I were pushing that much boost I would get something like a raptor or a turboxs. There’s nothing better then hittin 20+ psi with it and making people jump on the sidewalk. }(

And for anyone that seen the topic about GReddy in the pits... it looks like you have to deal with GReddy as there staying around for a while. Lol at what they said.

Ya, maybe it was a bad one. I'm not sure. That's just what happened when we put it on. We put a different spring in it too and still leaked.

i have a greddy bov on my car and i like it a lot. ive ran only 6 psi for years, and recently upped the boost to 20 and it still is working great!!

I only ran 6-9PSI with my SSQV. (Of course, it never leaked.) And the sound wasn't obnoxious like the Greedy and RFL's. Dunno about the Raptors, though.

I've never heard of a "greedy" BOV... I have a knock off Greddy type RS and it held fine at 17 PSI on a t3/t4e for over a yr.

Greedy is Greddy, It's just making fun of their over-priced parts.
