Hey, just a quick question. I have searched and read up about using nitrous (I am new to the nitrous world) and I have decided I am using a wet system since I am 97 and wanted to go with the zex wet kit here:

My question is, after everything is installed, is it just go? Or is there any tuning involved? I plan to run the highest shot I can. I have Wiseco 10.5:1 pistons, does that change anything as far as nitrous goes? I have a fully built motor and just want to run a big shot to take full advantage of the motor. I just want to know how in depth using NOS is or if it's more of a plug and play system that I'm looking at. Thanks.

With nitrous you still need to tune the jets, so you will need a wideband gauge and would be wise to have an egt gauge so you can keep an eye on your cylinder temps. I would also get a fuel pressure safety switch that way if you fuel pressure falls then the nitrous cuts out so you don't just inject nitrous and blow you engine.
edit: I would also get a pressure activated bottle heater, they make a HUGE difference.

How do you "tune the nozzles"? And what does a bottle heater actually do? Thanks for the input.

You have different size jets that go in the fogger nozzle, you change the jet size to allow a different amount of fuel and nitrous in. The bottle heater keeps the pressure to a level that makes optimum performance. When I had it on mine I ran it at 1000psi. It makes a huge difference esp during the winter when the bottle pressure is down because of how cold it is.

dude, this kit looks like it will only support 75hp. also, the zex kits have a "fail safe" cutoff if the fuel press. drops. if you got good internals you should run at least 100 or more hp. you want about 85 degrees bottle temp. that should keep you around 950psi and you start by putting the recomended jets for the shot you want and check the afr. run a wally for sure. once you match jets to the perfect afr your done. enjoy!
