While installing my ebay turbo, I managed to snap the cheap oil inlet flange. When I went to my speed shop to buy a new one they told me that they have never seen one with such a tiny hole in it. I was wondering if that is supposed to have the tiny restrictor hole or if I could just use a normal one.

Yeah I do believe it is a restrictor of some sort (if the hole is about the size of a piece of led). I have no idea why they put them on a standard journal turbo as you could starve it. Get a standard oil feed flange with a bigger hole. If you/shop can repair it in any way, drill a bigger hole.

A restrictior shouldn't hurt most journal bearing turbos. Most are happy with a nice 60-70 psi max oil pressure and 420a's can go higher than that depeneding on conditions. I ran one on an ebay journal bearing turbo and had no problems in the 8 months it was on there and still owned the car.
