Hey guys i have a 420a turbo and im having some problems. When it goes into boost the gauge will read 6psi wich is where my wastegate spring is set to open but the car does not accelerate. I have no idea whats wrong please help. Thanks Tyler

how the hell are you hitting 6 pounds of boost without acceleration? Either
a)you are accelerating and you just don't know it

or

b)you need to take your car out of neutral but i doubt you are able to build 6 lbs of boost in neutral.

Try this out next time you hit 6psi jump out of the car really fast. If you get all banged up than you were definitely accelerating if not go to option b

lol, seriously, Could we also get an idea of your set up? fcd, missing link, fmu, sfmu ect. If you have an EGT or an wideband,air/fuel gauge what does it read when you go into boost? I would be worried if my gauge hit 6 pounds and it didn't go anywhere, are you sure its not -6hg?

ok seriously... It does accelerate but not what it should be for 6psi is what im saying, no need to be a dick about it. My set up is a 50 trim, fmu, fuel cut defender, warbrol 255. I dont have a egt or wideband.

so what you're saying is that the car is not pulling as hard as you think is should be.

get it tuned and Dynoed. I bet it's about right and your butt dyno is mis-calibrated

6 psi on a 2.0l is not a whole heck of a lot, and if you're lookin for a tire-peelin torque while doin 60mph it won't come close. if it's just loadin up, then check your plugs and maybe your exhaust, it may be restricted. Other than that it's kinda hard to tell w/o a WB. Where is your boost referenced? If it's early in the sytem (off the turbo) you may have a serious leak as suggested. You could be barely boosting at the manifold.

Yeah i know its not going to be a whole lot of power but its deffinetely not running the way it should. Im going to get new plugs tommorow because i dont know when they were changed last. The exhaust is not restricted because im running open down pipe as of right now. Also i just ordered a wideband yesterday and it should be here tuesday so we shall see what my afr are. Thanks for the help.

you can also try running your boost gauge to the manifold if you dont already have it set up that way. atleast then you will know if you are in fact hitting 6psi. Check all of your cupplers and makes sure you dont have a leak anywhere. check your intercooler too if you have one make sure it didnt get damaged and is leaking.

yea probably just a simple boost leak,btw you didnt use rubber couplers did you?note that you can still read 6 psi with a boost leak and may not think you have one because still reading 6 psi unles its a ssever leak wich wont be hard to locate

no i have brand new silicone couplers and brand new intercooler. The boost gauge is hooked into the manifold as well.

what sort of FMU setup are you runnin?

Its a vortec fmu, thats all i know.

see if your fcd is set up correctly.... u might need to switch to a ML cause the only thing i can think of is your getting a fuel cut..
