ok guys i need some help here ...my friend is selling me his, T3/T04e 50 trim .63 AR for $150 bucks...will this fit my car as a 420a motor? it is a stock motor i just have air intake system and a tsudo exhuat system. im getting headers in real soon gonna hook that up as well with new pulleys and motor mount...NOW much do ya think the turbo will produce is it worth getting it..and what else will i need other then the turbo kit... please help....

now getting there is whats gonna kill you
you have a LONG way to go just to get the turbo even working on the 420a, let alone getting it tuned right to make above 300hp.

now you got a turbo for $150 . . .
do you know the costs of the other stuff your gonna need for this project?
intercooler, piping, Bov, wastegate?
then have you thought at all about your Fuel system?
what are you gonna control all this with? need to factor in the engine management setup.
and
if you plan on running more then 5-7psi then you need to price in a COMPLETE rebuild of your engine with forged internals (700-1k depending)
then there is dyno time, time you need to factor in for your car not being driven daily, delivery time for parts, breakdown time cuz your gonna mess somthing up the first time around.

now the $150 for the turbo might sound good but make sure you know what your getting into and make REALISTIC power goals and you can get there.

now where to start?
book store. go buy Corky Bell's Maximum Boost and read it all the way through.
then use the search function here on these forums and read till you have every comcept down and your project all planed out.
THEN you may begien to buy parts and start this thing.

btw if your planning turbo then dont waste your money on a header since you will scrap it when you add a turbo.

so then if thats that can you tell me what exactly i will need im not worried about the money i got a 1 grand right now willing to spend on the car...can you give me a list or whatever please...

No we can't tell you because there's a fucking million threads on it already. Read the stickied threads, read the turbo articles in the wiki, then come back with legitimate questions.

And if you've only got a grand to spend, then you should be worried about the money. $1k isn't going to get you far. You might might might be able to get boosted for that, but based on your first few posts I'm gonna guess not

well i just said a grand cuz someone else said a grand will be ok. i got the money tho..see im just tryin to push about 275 to 300 hp thats all i guess. im willing to put no more than 3 grand into the car..which i guess is enough right?i just dont want to fuck up my motor cuz its a 420a they say its a crappy ass motor but still i'll take the risk... thanks for the advice tho...

Best way to turbo a 420a, buy an ebay kit, throw the ebay turbo back on ebay, buy a gt35r, build the block, build the head, build a fueling system that will support your power goals (if i had the money, i'd max that fucking gt35r out or close to it) run engine management that will let you tune fuel and spark and find a GOOD tuner. Be prepared to pay out of the ass for a good tuner too if you want to make decent power.

Some of these guys have big turbos, built motors and the engine management to push well over what they're at now but lack the tuner to get it done.

ps. You got 1 grand, buy a gt35r. They're like $850 used, sometimes you can get them nib for that price.

Build your turbo system around it.

Dont fuck with a pussy ass 50 something trim t3/t4.

Definately read and dont rush shit.

Building a system is fairly easy.

Funding/sourcing parts and tuning will kill your wallet.
