Hello all, My names Tim..I'm from the NJtuners forum, but I came here looking for help. Ok, so I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS...and it needs boost. I read the write-up that GSGoinFast had written, and decided to go from there. Ok..so got the turbo.

Now..the only thing that scares me to death is the oil pan, and how I need to weld the Oil return line into it. Question is, do any of you guys have a spare laying around that is already made up? Or can I pay one of you guys to do it for me? I DON'T want to screw this up, and I have a feeling I will when I attempt it. Instead of welding, someone suggested that I drill a hole, and just screw the male plug into it, and it should hold up well. Any help would be great.

Only other thing that worries me is the IC piping, and My downpipe that I need to have made. But, any help is appreciated guys, thanks a billion.

Find a spare in the Jyard on or here, buy the fitting, then mark location and take to an exhaust shop. They will probably charge 5 bucks to weld it in...

You don't even have to weld it, buy a -10 (or whatever size you decide to go with) bulkhead fitting and use that. Then all you need to do is drill a hole.

Welcome. Did you make one of the posts on njtuners regarding boosting a 420a? I think I've posted in all of those trying to help where I can. Once you get the oil pan done, your next big obstacle is getting the downpipe made b/c everything has to be mounted for it to be fabbed up, but you can't really drive the car with the turbo mounted and no downpipe. GL with the setup and hopefully when you're done, I'll see you at one of the local DSM meets so I won't be the only 420a there :D

Is there an easier way to do the oil pan thing? Is it like...100% needed? Can I re-route the line another way?

The only other thing is to try and find a pan for sale here in the classifieds that already has a fitting for an oil return line then just swap pans when you do your turbo install.

You're going to spend a whole weekend installing a turbo kit on the car. My suggestion for you is to first setup your fuel system (which you can do ahead of time and drive around with a walbro, fmu or sfmu) Install gauges and fcd/missing link. THen once that is all done and good, you can set aside a weekend for installing the turbo/mani/downpipe/oil supply/oil return/mod the oil pan/intercooler. It's really not a hard install if you do your reading.

No part of this is going to be easy, but if i had to pick a part, i would probably think the oil pan modification would be about the easiest.

You might want to stop where you are, dont buy anything else, read up the site, and understand every part of the turbo build before you move ahead to the buying stage.

I was right where you were a few months ago when i decided i wanted to boost my 98 gs, but I read most of the posts in this forum. Litterally.

You do realize that the fuel system and what you have to do to get it work will take WAY more effort then drilling a house and mounting a fitting on the oil pan. And yeah, oil pans at the junk yard, about 5 bucks probably.

Also, FMIC piping is pretty easy because you can pick up a universal kit on ebay for 100 shipped and it should do you just fine.
